Last morning of the passage (hopefully)

We are now about 46 miles from our waypoint outside the Bay of Honduras
and about 65 from our anchorage for the night before going into
Livingston in the morning. Guatemala is on Central Standard Time so we
gain an hour today from our current time zone. We have now traveled over
400 miles since leaving the marina Monday morning and looking forward to
settling down in Rio Dulce.

Last night was another wild night. Shortly before dark our buddy boat
radioed and said their jib sail blew out so they would be using their
main and staysail. But with the wind we had they still made great time.
We used our main and jib sails reefed about 50% and hung closely with
them. It was important at this point in the passage that we keep visual
contact with each other and overnight we were about 1/4 mi apart.

Winds were generally in the 20-30 kt area with some winds over 30.
Swells were probably up to 2m but seem to be coming down as I thought
they would as we approach land. There were no squalls although we saw
lots of lightening in the distance probably over land.

About 0200 the Carnival Breeze passed by on its way to Roatan. Our buddy
boat could operate his AIS in receive only mode as we had shut ours off
to avoid detection. He called and the pilot did not see us on radar
since we were in stealth mode for AIS. He was on a direct course to hit
us but diverted and passed 9nm away and in front of us after the call.

Other than that it was uneventful. Crew is tired and looking forward to
resting at anchor tonight. Next update at happy hour on anchor.
